Our music

Since our film isn’t very upbeat and fun, me and my group have decided to emphasize the darker emotions conveyed by our film through our music.  

An inspiration I would like to give credit to is Billie Eilish’s “everything i wanted” music video where Billie is driving with her brother in the road, it’s dark and raining, and portrays a feeling of somber and sadness. I also really like the tone of the song, and I believe it would be perfect as background music for when Maddie is coming from school to her house. 

Another song that I think would also be very fitting is Ashe’s “Moral of the Story” song.  Although the song itself has nothing to do with our plot and Maddie’s experience, the tone is very fitting with Maddie. This song inspires me to find similar soundtracks that are copyright free because I think this song is one of the best reflections of the mood me and my group want to convey. 

My last inspiration is “Heather” by Conan Gray. What I really like about this song is how heartbroken it is. It talks about how Conan is sad and wishes he could be Heather. I would really like to find a song that conveys that emotion of loneliness, being insecure, and feeling heartbroken.  

Overall, there’s at least one aspect from each song that I would like to include in the movie as a soft background song to emphasize Maddie’s feelings to the audience.
